Burglar in Kent Caught Thanks to AirPods

In Kent, UK, a professional burglar broke into a family's home on Christmas Eve, stealing jewelry, money, and wireless headphones. Residents reviewing CCTV footage found clips from 23:33 showing Allen wandering through the house and randomly opening drawers in the living room. Later, police tracked the AirPods to a house in Stanhope, where they found the thief hiding in the attic. The 47-year-old man was sentenced to two years, four months, and 23 days in prison at Canterbury Crown Court on February 27. However, the victim, who returned to the ransacked house, said the sentence was not enough at all. She pointed to Allen's extensive criminal record with 25 previous convictions in 55 cases, saying: "I don't think two years is enough, but that's the reality. He's done it before, so he'll do it again." During the hearing, Prosecutor General George Skinner stated the value of the stolen goods was estimated at over 3,000 pounds ($4,022). Allen had pleaded guilty to breaking into the Olgun family's home in a previous hearing. The court also heard that he was later convicted of breaking into two other homes on the same day. Judge Paul Goldspring told Allen: "You have a horrifying and extensive criminal record." Allen will have to serve at least 40% of his sentence in prison and pay legal costs for the victims. Thanks to tracking AirPods, police caught a professional burglar who broke into a family's home on Christmas Eve and stole thousands of pounds worth of goods. Anthony Allen entered one of the homes late at night while the owners were visiting family. When they returned to their home in Ashford, Kent, they were shocked to see it had been completely ransacked, with belongings scattered everywhere.
