The head of the Northern Ireland government, Michelle O'Neill, announced on Friday that she does not plan to attend events related to the Day.
"I believe that the current issues related to securing safety and stability are the ones we must focus on," said Michelle O'Neill.
According to her, the situation in the country remains tense, and at this moment it is necessary to pay attention to resolving important problems.
"We must work to ensure peace and stability in the region. Therefore, I have decided not to attend any celebratory events," she added.
