Taylor Swift Wins Global Artist Award 2024

American singer Taylor Swift has been awarded the Global Artist Award 2024 by the IFPI, marking her fifth win. Her successful Eras Tour and record-breaking album contribute to this recognition.

American singer Taylor Swift has been awarded the Global Artist Award 2024 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). This recognition has been granted for her impressive achievements, including broken records, filled stadiums, and her constant presence on the best-seller lists during the past year.

Swift, 35, had previously received this award in 2014, 2019, 2022, and 2023. She has managed to stay at the top of this ranking following a successful tour called the Eras Tour. Her eleventh studio album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', released last April, contributed to her earning other recognitions from the IFPI in various categories.

Last summer, Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first artist to perform solo at Wembley Stadium in London, on eight occasions during the same tour. In the IFPI ranking, following Swift are Canadian rapper Drake in second place and South Korean boy band Seventeen in third place. American singer Billie Eilish occupies the fourth position, and the K-Pop group Stray Kids is in fifth place.

Emerging artists such as Americans Zach Bryan and Sabrina Carpenter managed to secure spots in the top ten, in sixth and tenth place respectively.

IFPI CEO Victoria Oakley expressed her immense pride in awarding Taylor Swift the global artist of the year award for the fifth time, praising her ability to redefine the boundaries of global success. Oakley highlighted that it has been an exceptional year for Taylor Swift and emphasized the connection her fans worldwide have with her vast musical catalog.
