London Auction Features Music Memorabilia

Over 400 items linked to central figures in popular music will go under the hammer on April 30 in London, as part of the “Music Memorabilia” event organized by the auction house Propstore. The lots trace the history of rock and pop through names like The Beatles, Queen, and Guns N’ Roses.

Among the most highlighted lots are items from the personal archive of Peter Hince, Queen's historic sound engineer and photographer. The collection also includes a limited-edition blue vinyl of Bohemian Rhapsody, a bathrobe worn by Freddie Mercury during The Game Tour, and a Christmas card sent by the singer in 1987.

One of the most anticipated pieces is a promotional poster for Yoko Ono and John Lennon's album Double Fantasy, signed by Lennon on December 8, 1980, just hours before his death. A standout item in this collection is a golden microphone presented to the band as “Band of the Year” by the magazine Circus in the 1980s, with an estimated value of £30,000 to £60,000.

Other Beatles-related items include a draft lyric for Goodbye, written by Paul McCartney in 1969; a suit worn by Ringo Starr in 1964; and a handwritten score for While My Guitar Gently Weeps by George Harrison. The auction also features pieces from George Michael, Jimi Hendrix, and Michael Jackson, alongside material associated with bands like Oasis and Mötley Crüe.
