Prince Harry Settles with News Group Newspapers

Prince Harry reached a financial settlement with the owner of the newspaper 'The Sun,' following legal actions filed against the Rupert Murdoch media group. This was announced by David Sherborne, the prince's lawyer, on Tuesday. The 'News Group Newspapers' (NGN) group apologized for 'phone tapping and surveillance and misuse of personal data' by journalists, and compensation for the prince will be substantial.

The allegations directed at Prince Harry against 'The Sun' and 'News of the World' involve the use of illegal investigative methods, such as employing private investigators to gather information on him for over a decade. This settlement comes after a 2023 ruling against the publisher 'Daily Mirror' due to articles related to phone tapping.

Despite Prince Harry's significant legal victory against the tabloid press, the actions presented before the High Court in London do not pertain to the issue of surveillance on the phone after the time limit for this case had expired.
