Intense Rivalry Highlighted at F1 Event in London

The intense rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes in Formula 1 deepened following the presentation event of the new cars for the 2025 season, held at the O2 Arena in London. Since the controversial championship definition in 2021, when Max Verstappen defeated Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi, the tension between both teams has been evident.

During the presentation, Christian Horner, head of Red Bull, was booed by a section of the audience, which generated controversy. These boos added to the unpopularity that Red Bull and Verstappen have in the UK, due to the fervent support for Hamilton and Mercedes in the country.

In this context, Toto Wolff, CEO of Mercedes, referred to the situation, mentioning that a significant event should not be undermined by booing a person, justified or not. Wolff denied having joined the disapproval against Horner with an ironic comment.

In the words of the CEO of Mercedes: 'I think, as you say, Max Verstappen was not really booed. And we should not downgrade a great event just because a single person, rightly or wrongly, was booed while speaking.' The rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes has kept Formula 1 fans on edge and promises a season full of excitement and competition.
