UK Upgrades Typhoon Radar Systems to Counter Russian Threats

The United Kingdom has signed a £453 million ($608 million) contract with military contractors, including BAE Systems and Leonardo, to update the radar systems on its Typhoon fighter jets. This move aims to bolster defenses against Russian threats. Defense Secretary John Healey said on Thursday before visiting a Leonardo facility in Edinburgh: "As the threats we face grow and Russian aircraft continue to fly, this update is not only about securing the UK but also about encouraging other nations to seek these fighters, which helps sustain production and preserve jobs at home." Typhoon fighter jets are the cornerstone of British air defense.
