Liverpool Closes in on Premier League Title

Liverpool is one win away from clinching the Premier League title after a 1-0 victory over Leicester City, sealing Leicester's relegation to the Championship.

Liverpool Closes in on Premier League Title

Liverpool won against Leicester 1-0 thanks to a goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold, thereby making a crucial step towards securing the title of the English Premier League champion. This result also meant that Leicester mathematically sealed their relegation to the second division. Leicester had to beat Liverpool to maintain their chances of staying in the Premier League, but the goal wasn't scored until the 75th minute, when Alexander-Arnold took advantage of a free kick in the penalty area.

Liverpool could have set a record for the number of titles in the English championship, reaching 20 wins if Arsenal lost to Ipswich Town. However, Arsenal won 4-0 against Ipswich earlier today. Liverpool could finish the title race in third place if Arsenal loses to Crystal Palace. If Palace does not beat Arsenal, Liverpool can seize the title by defeating Tottenham at home next Sunday.

Liverpool's leadership consists of 79 points after 33 matches, followed by Arsenal with 66 points after the same number of matches. Leicester, which currently cannot recover after nine consecutive losses this season, is officially relegated, having only 18 points and no chance to catch West Ham, occupying the 17th place — the last safe place to remain in the Premier League.
