Manchester City, the champions of the English football league, completed a second signing in less than 24 hours, securing young Brazilian defender Vitor Raiche from Palmeiras. The club had also earlier in the day signed another defender, 20-year-old Uzbek Abdulkader Khusonov from French Lens.

"Raiche has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League champions," the statement said. "19-year-old Raiche is considered one of the most promising young talents in North America." Experts noted that Raiche played 22 matches for Palmeiras and played all eight matches for the national team until 17 years old.
