Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola announced that the club will make a final decision on the readiness of Norwegian Erling Haaland for the match against Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester City, the four-time holder of the English Premier League title, plays away against Tottenham tomorrow in the 27th round.
The injury forced Haaland to miss the matches of Manchester City against Spanish Real Madrid in the Champions League and Liverpool in the FA Cup. The player suffered an injury during Manchester City's 4-0 victory over Newcastle last week and was substituted before the end of the game.
Guardiola said: "We will see if he plays against Tottenham after training. I hope so, but I am not sure yet. He feels better, but missed the last two matches. We will see tomorrow."
Tottenham has also experienced an instability of results this season and faced injuries to key players. Nevertheless, the London club has won its last three matches in the Premier League. Guardiola noted that the team under the guidance of Australian coach Ange Postecoglou represents a serious challenge, especially on their turf.
He added: "They are an excellent team, very high quality. They have a high tempo of play, aggressive movements. But it seems that lately they have been making few additional passes."
Notably, Manchester City is currently in fourth place in the league table with 44 points, trailing by 20 points.
