Former English stars David Beckham and Gary Neville have joined the new Salford City group for the club in the English Football League Fourth Division. The news of the former Manchester United players joining the American venture with American businessman Declan Kelly and ex-banker and minister in the Labour party government Gordon Brown was confirmed by the club.

Salford City is located in the suburbs of Manchester, not far from Old Trafford stadium, which belongs to Manchester United. Gary Neville, who currently works as a leading television football analyst, noted: "I am absolutely delighted to be part of the Salford City family. I am with anticipation looking forward to the next stage of this journey."

Beckham, who played for Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain, is also one of the owners of the American club Inter Miami, which features Argentine Lionel Messi. "This is a unique partnership, combining a diversity of conditions and experiences, united by a love for football," Neville emphasized.

He added: "Football will always come first, but it is important to guide the club towards sustainability in the coming four or five years."
