
Paul Di'Anno, former vocalist of the British band Iron Maiden, passed away at 66 years old according to the band’s official Facebook page. Di'Anno was born in Chingford, East London, on May 17, 1958, and was recognized for his participation in the early Iron Maiden albums, singing on the debut albums 'Iron Maiden' and 'Killers'.
Since leaving Iron Maiden, Paul Di'Anno continued his musical career with projects like Battlezone and Killers, as well as solo releases and guest collaborations. Despite facing health issues in recent years that led him to perform in a wheelchair, Paul continued to appear live and amassed over 100 concerts since 2023.
In September 2024, the first retrospective album of Di'Anno's career titled 'The Book of the Beast' was released, which collected the highlights from his time after leaving Iron Maiden. In Iron Maiden's official statement, it was mentioned: 'Conquest Music is proud to have had Paul Di'Anno in our family of artists and asks his fans to raise a glass in his memory'.
Almost a month after his passing, the causes of Paul Di'Anno's death were revealed. According to information provided by his sisters Cheryl and Michelle, the singer suffered a tear in the membrane surrounding his heart, resulting in an instant cardiac arrest that was possibly painless. Paul died at his home in Salisbury, UK, last October.
The band and Di'Anno's family shared this news with fans via Facebook, remembering the singer's contribution to the music world and asking for him to rest in peace.
