The British newspaper 'The Sunday Times' revealed the annual UK tax list, which included J.K. Rowling, Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Harry Styles among the top 100 taxpayers in the United Kingdom. According to the list, the top 100 taxpayers contributed a total of £575.8 billion in 2025, compared to £498.5 billion in 2024. As reported by the British news agency PA Media, for the first time, the list is topped by billionaire brothers Fred and Peter Done, founders of the betting giant Bet365, surpassing leading musicians, business figures, and sporting stars. According to the list, Fred and Peter Done, who founded the company based in Warrington in 1967, contributed approximately £400.1 million in taxes over the past year. This came after their tax bill nearly doubled from £273.4 million in the previous year. Robert Watts, who compiled the list, said: 'This is an increasingly diverse list where Premier League footballers and globally famous pop stars line up alongside nobles and business people selling pies, cushions, and baby milk.' Financial trader Alex Gerko came in second on the list with a tax bill of £43.31 million, followed by hedge fund manager Chris Rokos, who paid £330 million. For the first time, football players joined the list, with Erling Haaland of Manchester City ranking 72nd after paying around £16.9 million, and it is believed that Mohamed Salah of Liverpool's tax bill is £14.5 million. Other notable figures on the list include Harry Potter series author J.K. Rowling at number 36 with a tax bill of £47.5 million, and musician Ed Sheeran at number 64, who paid £19.9 million.
