FCA to Publish All London Stock Exchange Trading Data

The UK's financial regulator, the FCA, is introducing new measures to publish trading data on the London Stock Exchange to combat a lack of liquidity information that has driven companies to list in the US.

FCA to Publish All London Stock Exchange Trading Data

The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is addressing the lack of market liquidity reporting by starting to publish all trading data for stocks listed on the London Stock Exchange. This shortage of information has previously led companies to move their listings to the United States. Since 2007, the London Stock Exchange has been losing its competitive edge. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, companies listed on the exchange are expected to transfer their shares from its alternative investment market to the main market at the fastest rate in 14 years by 2025. Last year, 7 out of just over 600 companies moved their shares to the more regulated main market.
