Mo Farah Reveals His Childhood Story on 'I'm a Celebrity'

Olympic champion Mo Farah revealed to his colleagues on the 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' show the story of his childhood. He explained that his mother, Nimco Ali, brought him to England on a fake passport belonging to her son. Farah, whose real name is Hussein Abdi Kahin, told his fellow contestants that his father was killed in Somalia's civil war and his mother couldn't raise eight children alone. He thought he was going to live with his mother and siblings in the Netherlands but was surprised to be sent to live with a family he didn't know. The 2012 London gold medalist added: 'I was a victim of child trafficking. The woman who brought me to England frankly employed me to serve her children and do housework. I was in a maid-like position.' After the show aired, his stepbrother, Ahmed Farah, who was a child at the time and didn't understand what was happening, defended their mother, saying she acted with good intentions. He wanted to give him a better life and considered him his son, treating him the same as his other brothers. Ahmed said they all did housework and he always called him 'Mo'. Ahmed remains in contact with Mo, who now runs a car repair shop in Hargeisa, Somalia.
