UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed that Britain will not be forced to choose between the United States and China, pointing to 'significant opportunities' for British companies ahead of his visit to Beijing tomorrow. In an interview with Bloomberg News, Starmer denied that he is seeking to enhance relations with China at the expense of Britain's ties with the United States, which is its closest ally. Starmer said: 'I'm often simply asked to choose between two countries, but I don't do that.' He added: 'I remember when I was seeking to strike a trade deal with the United States, and everyone was saying I would have to choose between the US and Europe, and I said: I will not choose between them.'
