Over 11,500 Artists Sign Petition Against AI Usage

More than 11,500 artists and writers signed a petition, publicized yesterday, warning of the use of their works for training algorithms of artificial intelligence. Among the signatories are well-known figures such as Thom Yorke from Radiohead, Bjorn Ulvaeus from ABBA, American actress Julianne Moore, and her compatriot - writer Harlan Coben, and author of books of British-Japanese origin, laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature, Kazuo Ishiguro.

The petition, which is still open for signatures from the creators, warns that "the use of artistic works without permission for the training of artificial intelligence poses a serious and irreversible threat to the source of income for the owners of these works, and this should not be permitted".

In recent years, major Hollywood studios have actively used artificial intelligence to resurrect famous personalities, create images of doubles in mass battle scenes, or even help in writing scripts.
