McLaren's star driver, Lando Norris, is preparing for the upcoming Formula 1 season with a firm determination to challenge Max Verstappen and be more aggressive on the track. After being Verstappen's closest rival last season, Norris seeks to intensify his fight and prove that he will not be an easy target to overcome.

In 2024, McLaren had a challenging start to the season but managed to make improvements to their car before the Miami Grand Prix. Norris mentioned that Verstappen's advantage and the Red Bull driver's mentality complicated the competition, but he was optimistic for this new year, highlighting that a better start to the season could change things.

During the presentation of McLaren's new car for 2025, Lando shared his approach for the upcoming campaign, emphasizing the importance of not being timid on the track and being willing to fight for every position, especially against Verstappen. He acknowledged that he would need to be aggressive but also smart, as facing the champion requires both qualities.

Norris admitted that he made costly mistakes last season, which contributed to his growth as a driver. Despite his determination to be tougher on the track, he emphasized that it is not necessary to take unnecessary risks to beat Verstappen, stressing that the key lies in skill and strategy more than in special moves.

"He is fast, aggressive, and one of the greatest of all time, but the easiest way to beat him is simply by being faster than him and staying ahead," Norris explained. With preseason testing scheduled for late February in Bahrain and the first race in Melbourne on March 16, he and McLaren will be ready to demonstrate their ability to challenge Verstappen's supremacy on the track.
