In the second stage of the Vuelta a España, young Briton Joshua Tarling claimed victory ahead of Italian Jonathan Milan and snatched the leader's jersey.
"Since the end of last year, I have experienced failures, so I really needed a win, and I'm very happy," Tarling commented on his victory, marking his 21st birthday, which he celebrated last Saturday.
Strong winds created difficulties for the riders, but this did not prevent Tarling from delivering an outstanding performance and winning the 12.2 km stage. He outpaced second-placed Swiss rider and third-placed Slovenian, leaving them 13 and 18 seconds behind, respectively.
