Red Bull Faces Backlash at F1 Presentation in England

The presentation of the single-seaters, teams, and drivers that will participate in the 2025 Grand Prix took place in England, and among the protagonists were Christian Horner, director of Red Bull, driver Max Verstappen, and Liam Lawson, the new member of the team. Lawson will take the place of Mexican Sergio Pérez, who left the team after a difficult season last year.

During the event, there were boos directed at the Red Bull team when Christian Horner took the stage. Despite this reaction from the audience at F1 75 Live, the presentation of the RB21, Red Bull's new single-seater, continued normally by Horner, Verstappen, and Lawson.

The International Automobile Federation (FIA) expressed its disapproval of the boos in a statement, highlighting the importance of respect in any sporting competition, beyond rivalries. They acknowledged the significance of Verstappen and Horner in Formula 1 and called for maintaining a culture of respect in the sport, taking measures to prevent similar situations in the future.

In response to the boos, Jos Verstappen, father of Max Verstappen and former race driver, criticized the situation as shameful and unacceptable in an interview with RaceXpress. He expressed his disagreement with booing the team during an event meant to promote the sport and mentioned that if the boos are repeated in future presentations in England, it is likely that Max Verstappen will decide not to attend, as he believes this kind of behavior has no place in the sport.
