The monthly inflation indicator in the United Kingdom skyrocketed in January, reaching a rate of 3%, according to the published government statistical office data.
This has become the highest level of inflation in the country over the past six months. Rising prices of fuel and food products have been the main factors contributing to the increase in the indicator. In particular, prices for aviation fuel and clothing also increased at the beginning of 2022.
"We are seeing accelerated inflation, which may be reflected in the purchasing power of citizens and the overall economic situation," noted economist Andrey Smit.
On the other hand, experts have expressed confidence that the growth of inflation will remain a temporary phenomenon, and with time, the indicators will stabilize.
