U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the United States and the United Kingdom are heading towards 'a very good trade deal' that would allow London to avoid new customs duties.
Trump expressed confidence in the successful conclusion of a trade agreement between the two countries. According to him, this agreement would allow the UK to avoid the introduction of additional tariffs on its goods, which could have serious economic consequences.
'We are counting on a terrific agreement,' Trump noted. 'As soon as they (the UK) are free, they will be able to conclude a trade agreement. This will be a very important agreement. I think it's fair,' the U.S. president added.
