The Liverpool Football Club reported a loss of 72 million dollars for the season. This was the result of the full impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the club's financial condition.
The team stated that revenue fell by 46 million to 379 million dollars. The decreased income is linked to the absence of matches with fans in the stadium, which severely affected the club's financial position.
"We continue to feel the real consequences of the pandemic on our business, although we have demonstrated resilience in these challenging times," noted the club's representative.
On top of financial difficulties, Liverpool also faced challenges in the championship: the team suffered a series of defeats and sharply dropped in the table. Despite this, the club's management expressed confidence in the squad's ability to cope with difficulties and return to the top of the table.
