According to the National Statistical Office of Great Britain, published on Friday, a decrease in the unemployment rate in the country was noted to 4.8% in the last quarter. This is 0.2 percentage points lower than in the previous period. The total number of unemployed has decreased by 16,000 people.
At the same time, the number of people working from the population aged 16 to 64 increased by 84,000 people during that same period, indicating a growth in employment in the country.
However, due to the continuing restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy of Great Britain still remains under pressure. Despite some recovery in the labor market, experts predict a possible increase in unemployment in the near future due to the instability of the situation.
