UK Economy Slows in Third Quarter

In the third quarter of 2025, the UK economy showed a slight growth of 0.1%, slower than the 0.3% growth in the second quarter. This was partly due to a cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover in September. In that same month, the economy actually contracted by 0.1%, defying expectations of stability. These data coincide with the preparation of the new budget by Finance Minister Rachel Reeves. Investors have increased their bets that the Bank of England will cut interest rates next month, now seeing an 82% chance of this happening.
