Britain and Turkey have signed a multi-billion pound agreement on Wednesday for a new large training and support contract. This is part of an 8 billion pound ($10.73 billion) deal to buy Typhoon fighter jets that the two countries agreed on last year. Defense companies, including BAE Systems, Leonardo, MBDA, Rolls-Royce, and Martin-Baker, will provide components and equipment. The UK Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the new contract includes training in the UK for Turkish pilots and ground crews, as Turkey prepares to bring into service the first batch of UK-manufactured planes.
