European Nations Express Concern Over Israel's Law

On Friday, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany expressed "deep concern" regarding the Israeli government's implementation of a law that prohibits any interaction between its officials and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA)...

The participating countries believe that such a measure can adversely affect UNRWA's activities, which could negatively impact the peace process in the Middle East. In this regard, they called on Israel to rescind this decision.

The foreign ministers of the three countries stated in a joint statement: "We urge Israel to withdraw this measure. We believe that a stable and supported UNRWA financing is a necessary condition for the continuation of its work."

The law introduced by the Israeli government implements a ban on cooperation with UNRWA in response to its activities concerning territories controlled by Israeli authorities.
