Boris Johnson Calls for Asset Seizures Against Russia

On Tuesday, the UK Foreign Minister David Lammy stated that Europe needs to transition from the stage of freezing Russian assets to their confiscation.

"It's easier to talk than to act, but now it's time to act," Lammy said, addressing his colleagues from EU countries. "Europe needs to come together on a unified front and coordinate actions on the confiscation of Russian oligarchs' assets," the minister added.

Lammy emphasized the necessity of tightening sanctions against Russia after its aggression against Ukraine and the illegal annexation of Crimea. "We must go further and move to concrete actions," he emphasized.

"We are ready to work with partners to develop new sanctions and ensure their strict enforcement," Lammy concluded.
