Some of the largest newspapers in the UK launched a coordinated campaign on their front pages yesterday to evoke debate about the impact of artificial intelligence on creative industries, reports the British agency in AI Media. Special covers appeared on the releases of "Daily Express", "Daily Mail", "The Mirror", "Daily Star", "The i", "The Sun" and "The Times", as well as in several regional publications, to voice criticism regarding the consultation conducted by the government regarding potential exceptions that may be included in legislation on intellectual property rights for training artificial intelligence models. According to the proposals, technology companies will be allowed to use protected copyrighted materials without payment for reproduction or obtaining licenses, or compensating authors for the use of their works. In response to this, the publishers launched the "Make It Fair" campaign, within the framework of which newspapers displayed a cover on their front page expressing criticism of the government's consultation regarding the exclusion of copyright protections under the aegis of the "Association of News Media." This took place in the wake of consultations held by the government yesterday.
