On Monday, the UK Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Lammy, expressed his concern about "dangerous and destabilizing actions" taken by Beijing in the South China Sea, where regional tensions are observed.

Lammy emphasized that the UK stands on the side of the rightful owners of the region and their rights to peaceful use of the sea in accordance with international law. He also noted that China's actions threaten the freedom of navigation and security in the region.

"We call on China to cease destructive actions that threaten the rights of other countries and exacerbate tensions in the region," Lammy stated.

The minister also underlined the importance of adhering to international law and norms in the field of freedom and security in maritime areas, calling for a commitment to resolving their differences through dialogue and upholding principles of respect for sovereignty.
