On Sunday, Britain announced that two of its interceptors intercepted two Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea, not far from the country's airspace.
One of the ministers stated that the RAF interceptors had taken off from a base in Lithuania in response to a close encounter with a Russian military aircraft.
"British interceptors were on combat duty in Lithuania and were directed to the location to intercept the two military aircraft," he reported.
The encounter took place in neutral waters over the Baltic.
