Buenos Aires, Dec 10 (NA) -- A member of the United Kingdom's Armed Forces died on Wednesday morning in Ukraine as a result of a 'tragic accident' while observing the testing of a new Ukrainian defense capability, the UK Ministry of Defense reported in a statement. The statement specifies that the British service member 'was injured in a tragic accident while observing Ukrainian forces testing a new defensive capability, away from the front lines.' The individual's family has already been notified of their death, the Argentine News Agency reported. IP Local media noted that this is the first publicly announced death of a British military service member in Ukraine since February 2022. Previously, the United Kingdom had acknowledged the presence of a 'small number' of British military personnel in Ukrainian territory. Their mission was primarily to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provide security for the British embassy.
