Britain defended its decision yesterday, Tuesday, to return the Chagos archipelago, which houses a British-American military base, after Donald Trump accused it of «a great folly» in this matter. This is the latest verbal attack by the US president on his country's closest allies. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: «The United Kingdom's relinquishment of land of immense importance is a great folly, and it is another reason in a very long list of reasons related to national security that necessitates the acquisition of Greenland».
