The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has announced the launch of a new electronic visa system, marking a comprehensive digital transformation in the application process for UK entry visas, effective February 25, 2026. Most applicants will benefit from this system, which replaces traditional visa stickers in passports with a comprehensive digital proof of immigration status. The new system eliminates the need to keep a passport with the relevant authorities throughout the entire application review period, as a visit to the application center is required only once for identity verification and biometric data registration.
