The Guardian announced its decision to stop publishing on X, calling it a 'toxic media platform' due to disturbing content. The newspaper aims to use resources better elsewhere.

The Guardian Stops Publishing on X

According to a statement published on the official site of the British newspaper The Guardian, it has suspended the publication of its articles on the social network X, belonging to Elon Musk, describing it as "a toxic new platform" where "toxic content is often spread unchecked." The newspaper's statement includes the phrase: "We believe that the lack of publications on X at this time outweighs their use," adding that "it may be better to direct resources towards engaging our audience on another site."

The Guardian, considering itself a resource for approximately 11 million users of the network, stated: "We have been thinking about this issue for some time." Until yesterday, access to the newspaper's account on X was still available, but a message was sent about "the suspension of the account," while visitors were directed to the official website of The Guardian.
