On Friday, the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom announced that it has deployed interceptors from its fleet following the detection of a violation by a Russian military aircraft in its airspace.
According to this ministry, the detection of the Russian military aircraft occurred not far from British borders. After this decision, it was promptly decided to deploy interceptors for monitoring and escorting the Russian aircraft.
During a briefing, a ministry representative emphasized that such measures are usually standard practice and are aimed at ensuring the safety of the country's airspace. At this, there were no documented actions of any kind from the Russian side, and after some time, the interceptors left the zone.
"We will continue to monitor the air environment and are ready to respond to any potential threats," the ministry representative emphasized.
