Buenos Aires, March 25 (NA) – Harry Potter presented the trailer for its new series and confirmed that the production will premiere in Christmas 2026. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, the HBO platform developed this television adaptation with a new cast, aiming to retell the story of the young wizard in a series format. The preview shows Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alistair Stout as Ron Weasley. Additionally, the beginning of the story is reconstructed, showing Harry's life at the Dursleys', where the protagonist lives in precarious conditions. The sequence includes the arrival of the Hogwarts letter, marking the beginning of Harry's connection with the magical world. The trailer also presents the encounter with Hagrid, the revelation about the protagonist's parents, and the journey to Platform 9¾. The clip showcases the journey on the Hogwarts Express, where Harry meets Ron and Hermione, and depicts the beginning of the friendship between the three characters on the train. The clip features various scenes within Hogwarts, such as classes, tours of the castle, and the Sorting Hat ceremony. It also includes appearances by characters like Dumbledore, Snape, Draco Malfoy, and Ollivander. The production structures the first season around the book "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," so the series will consist of eight episodes covering Harry's first year at Hogwarts. The cast includes John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Hagrid. The cast is joined by Paul Whitehouse, Luke Thallon, Lox Pratt, Bel Powley, Daniel Rigby, and Katherine Parkinson. The production features Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, and Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, thus expanding the Hogwarts student universe. The production has not yet confirmed the actor who will play Voldemort, and the project does not assign a central role to that character in this initial stage of the story. The team began filming in July 2025 at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom.
