UK Minister on Country's Position Regarding Trump's Deadline to Iran

In response to a question about Britain's position on Trump's deadline, Housing Minister Steve Reid told Sky News: 'The US President is perfectly capable of expressing himself and defending what he says... we will not be dragged into war, but we will protect our interests in the region.' On Sunday, the minister said that US President Donald Trump had expressed his personal position when he threatened to destroy Iranian power plants unless Tehran fully reopened the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours. The minister added: 'There is no assessment to support what is being said about Iran planning to strike European capitals or that it has the capability to do so. We will work with our allies to calm the situation'.
